I started writting and illustrating books when I was a kid and I never really stopped. But life took me another direction and I became an engineer. I worked 15 years in ther engineering industry in New Zealand.

 

In 2019 while still being a full time engineer and a young dad, I self-published a short comic book called The Fabulous Adventures of Pipo. It was all hand drawn and hand painted with watercolors in a small watercolor sketchbook. I ended up distributing it to to friends and families, then at the chromacon art convention in Auckland, New Zealand and ended up in a few shops here and there. It was great practice for me to make but also to manage the printing process with a local printer, market and distribute it. I ended up selling out and I only have a handfull left.

 

And then in 2023, I was approached by a New Zealand publisher to illustrate the Miles and Jones comic book series. Again, I am mostly working traditionally for these books with ink and black watercolors that I am diluting to obtain different shades of grey. Miles and Jones Book 1 and 2 are available in New Zealand right now. They are coming to the UK late 2025 and in the US early 2026. Books 3 and 4 are coming in 2026 in New Zealand, the UK and the US.
